“Can I wear my rainbow mermaid leggings mummy?”

I HAVE to talk about Little Glad Rags. A small British business, run by Gemma, who is a work at home mum. The company’s tag line is

“Whipping up alternative children’s clothing – monochrome with a splash of rainbow”.

No, not that sort of rainbow. She means RAINBOW!!!

We only own two items of clothing from this little brand so far but the whole family adores them both. Bright and fun, we have had compliment after compliment when the kids are out in their LGR leggings.

The “mermaid leggings” are eye-poppingly gorgeous. Kaitlin charges about feeling like the bees knees, you can just tell. Especially when someone passes her a kind word about them – she goes all coy and prances about! Teamed with a black t shirt they’d be even cooler… But Kaitlin is more into pink…

And I love Rory’s leggings. Gemma has created a fun Pollock style splatter design in stripes of colour to make his rainbow splatter leggings. She decorates vests and other things herself so that they are all unique. This is an unusual aspect of Gemma’s business and makes her stuff a bit different from many of the other WAHM (work at home mum) clothing companies. And her choices of fabric are awesome!

She makes all sorts – trousers, bloomers, dresses, skirts, dungarees – and will custom make from her beautiful range of fabrics and abilities with decorating and print. They wash fine, and I’ve used stain remover on Rory’s custom made fabric leggings too with no issues. She also teams up with other WAHMs to make Little Trend Boxes, which are available at a set price and is full of surprises inside, which is an exciting idea.
